• Are there meeting rooms available to book?

    Meeting rooms of various sizes will be available in the venue on conference days 2, 3, and 4.

    They are located on the 5th floor and will be reservable on a first-come-first-serve basis at the start of each day.

  • What are the Covid-19 requirements?

    Vaccination or a negative test result is needed to enter Colombia.

    Please inform yourself here as requirements might change. Also, be aware that your airline company might have additional requirements.

  • What if I have dietary restrictions? What kind of food will be served at Devcon?

    We sadly cannot accommodate all restrictions, but we will try to always have food for:

    -Vegetarian -Vegan -Gluten-free

    Expect the food to be a mix of very local traditional Colombian food, and international food.

    Want to get straight to the celebrations at Devcon Bogota and not miss the Opening Ceremonies? Claim your wrist bands in advance. Seriously, it’s going to be worth it.
    Please have your ID ready if you have any of the following types of tickets:

    Note, that you can only pick up your own wristband. The wristband will be put on you at the time of the pick-up.
    You can also get the wrist bands from the Registration desk on all event days.
    However, we strongly recommend for you to pick up the wristbands in advance.

    Once you reach the desk, show us your ticket QR (and if you've got a Discounted ticket, we'll need your ID), and you'll get your conference wristband placed on your wrist, a POAP, and a SIM card (while we've got 'em!)

    Devcon is the only event hosted by the Ethereum Foundation, but there will be many other events planned by the community during Devcon Week! A few to keep an eye out for:

  • In which language will presentations and talks be delivered?

    The main language of the conference will be English. All main-stage talks will be translated into Spanish, and we will provide Spanish translations for side-stage talks and workshops where possible.

  • What are the COVID-19 policies?

    We will be implementing whatever COVID requirements are mandated by the government of Colombia at the start of the event. Currently as of June 2022, there are no restrictions.

    We’re also happy to mention that our venue Ágora Bogotá has has qualified for Bureau Veritas Safe Guard certification, meaning they have satisfied a rigorous set of biosafety criteria operationally and in their physical space.

  • Will there be Wifi?

    Yes! Fast, reliable WiFi is a priority to us this year, and it will be available to all attendees for the duration of the event.

  • I need a Visa Invitation Letter. How do I get started?

    The Devcon team will try to provide Visa Invitation Letters for those who have a valid ticket to Devcon. Please fill out the form here to request an invitation letter. Note: We cannot cover any costs associated with visa fees.


  • Do I have to be vaccinated?

    Yellow Fever:

    • Required if arriving from Angola, Brazil, Democratic Republic of the Congo, or Uganda and ≥1 year of age and for travelers who have transited >12 hours in an airport located in any of these same countries.
    • Not recommended if you stay in Bogotá city. Also not recommended for travelers to the cities of Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, and Medellin, the department of San Andrès y Providencia, or areas >2,300 m (7,546 ft) in elevation.

  • How to tip in Colombia?

    Tipping culture differs depending on the service! At restaurants, a voluntary 10% is custom, and could be included in advance for larger parties. It’s also fine (but not expected) to round up with street vendors.

    And if someone helps you with your bags, tipping hotel staff is kind in all countries. But for many attending from North America or the Eurozone, the 2000 COP that you may chip in adds up to under $/€1.00.

  • Where is Devcon taking place?

    We’re excited to announce that Devcon VI will be held in Bogotá, Colombia's capital and largest city.

    Our venue is the Agora Bogotá Convention Center; a newly constructed and state of the art venue that we hope will be, by far, the most suitable venue to ever host Devcon.

    Our search for a fitting location for Devcon VI began prior to Devcon V in 2019. After exploring venues in over ten cities across the world, and meticulously evaluating each against an extensive set of criteria, the clear winner was Bogotá, Colombia.

  • Is Bogotá safe?

    Bogotá is safer today than at any point in the last 50 years in terms of crime rates. That said, when visiting as a tourist, whether it be Paris, New York City, or any other metropolis, we recommend exercising some extra precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.   • What will the weather be like in Bogotá?

    At an altitude of 2,600m, the weather in Bogotá is comfortable year-round with average daily highs of around 20ºC (68°F), and nighttime lows around 8ºC (mid-40s°F).

  • Do locals speak English?

    The majority of locals in Bogotá speak Spanish, although you are more likely to run into English speakers in tourist-friendly areas like Candelaria, Sante Fe and Chapinero.

  • What is the food like in Bogotá?

    Below are a few of the popular dishes, but one can expect most of the food found in Bogotá to be typical Latin American dishes, surrounded by lots of fresh produce.

    • Arepas, circular corn cakes, are a Colombian diet staple found throughout the city.
    • Many main course dishes consist of octopus, shrimp, or other seafood.
    • Ajiaco is a common hearty soup made with chicken, potatoes, and corn on the cob
    • Empanadas are common breakfast items/snacks.
    • Tamales! Need we say more?
    • Hot chocolate, which is an absolute necessity in the lives of the locals, is served alongside a plate of cheese that can then be dipped into the beverage – causing it to melt.
    • Despite the large amount of coffee Colombia exports, specialty coffee shops are relatively new in Bogotá, but lucky for us they’re on the rise!
  • Is the tap water in Bogotá potable?

    The tap water is safe to drink. Colombia’s major cities have some of the best tap water around. Bogotá and Medellin are known for their excellent water quality.


  • What types of talks are there?

    Devcon makes a point of delivering a holistic learning experience through talks, workshops, panels, lightning sessions, and other freeform formats! Everyone learns in their own way, and we aim to accommodate as many styles as possible.

  • Who can be a speaker at Devcon?

    Devcon has a public application process. Applications for speakers are now closed.

  • Who decides on the speakers at Devcon?

    In recognition that the Devcon speaker application process has been very competitive in past years, we are doing our best to make the review process as fair, unbiased, and as open as possible for all. All speaker applications are reviewed by teams of community experts who analyze each application relevant to their area of expertise and collaborate together to make the final decision.


  • When will tickets go on sale?

    General Admission sales will take place in waves through July and August. You can find more info here.

  • Can I purchase tickets with ETH or DAI?

    Yes — we will be accepting both ETH and DAI payments for tickets this year on Mainnet, Optimism & Arbitrum, in addition to standard credit/debit card purchases.

  • Will there be opportunities to buy discounted tickets to Devcon?

    Please refer to our main ticketing page for any changes in Discount Ticket Applications.

  • What are the policies towards Refunds & Transfers?

    Refunds - All tickets will be refundable as long as the request is made before the start of the event. Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used to purchase the ticket: Credit card, ETH, or DAI. If the refund request is approved for a ticket paid for in cryptocurrency, you will be responsible for paying the gas fees of the transaction of the refund - gas fees will be deducted from the refunded amount. Please allow up to 4 weeks for refunds to be issued.

    Transfers - In our effort to prevent scalping and ensure equal opportunity for all interested community members to be able to purchase tickets, we will only allow ticket transfers on a case-by-case basis upon written request to


  • Tickets are sold out - How can I attend?

    We will open up a Waiting List after our final wave of General Admission tickets have sold out. In the event of cancellations, tickets will be granted to those on the Waiting List in the order that they signed up. We strongly encourage anybody looking to purchase a ticket from a third party to do it through email & copy

  • What happens to my ticket if Devcon is postponed again due to COVID restrictions?

    While we aim to open up ticket sales only when we are confident the event can take place as planned, in the event that we need to postpone Devcon for the safety & health of our attendees and the local community, tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.


  • How can I get in touch with Colombian Ethereum communities?

    There are Meetups outside of Bogotá:

    Antioquia is one of the 32 departments of Colombia, and Medellín is Antioquia's capital city. There is a Telegram group for Ethereum meetups and events in that region.

    The Caribbean region in the north of Colombia also has a Telegram group and a Twitter page.

    Armenia is the capital city of the Quindío department in western Colombia. Ethereum Eje Cafetero organizes regular meetups in that region located about 300km western of Botogá.

  • What co-working spaces can I find in Bogotá?
    • The Plugin Co-Working has two locations, in Rosales and Parkway. They have hourly and daily booking rates.
    • The Cowo co-working is located in Quinta Camacho and has hourly booking rates.
